LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN

For Armenia, 2006 was not just another year. It marked the 15th anniversary of an independent Republic of Armenia. We have seen the Armenian people face many challenges and hardships. Through it all, however, we know their spirits have been bolstered knowing their brothers, sisters, and friends throughout the globe stand with them.

Through the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR), we have stood alongside those Armenians, helping to make a positive change for our Homeland. A partner of the Armenian people, FAR shares the desire to see the Armenian nation evolve into a well-developed, advanced democracy.

At its inception, FAR provided food and energy when Armenia was in the darkness following the earthquake and during the violent struggles over Karabagh. Today, with the immediate crisis past, FAR’s mission has become one of advancing hope, opportunity, and empowerment.

Together, we have improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Armenian men, women, children, and seniors. We have reignited their hope for tomorrow. We have strengthened their souls by showing them their own innate power to shape their future.

We in the Diaspora are blessed by the success and fortune we have found in places such as the United States, Canada, and France – new homes that have welcomed us and our ancestors. But our hearts remain strongly tied to our Armenian Homeland. FAR is a trustworthy link binding together the hope of the Diaspora with the power of the Armenian people.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to each of you, friends and supporters of FAR. It is thanks to your devotion and continued support that we are able to continue the development and empowerment of our beloved Armenia.
