Updated: Oct 1, 2023

A call from Armenians to help.

Washington - Armenian organizations in the United States have encouraged their members and supporters to assist victims of the humanitarian disaster in Japan that has left as many as 10,000 people dead and about half a million displaced from their homes.

On March 11, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Japan causing a tsunami and partial meltdown at a nuclear power plant.

Armenian churches in the United States began fundraising for Japan following March 13 Sunday services and prayers for the victims.
