The Fund for Armenian Relief wishes to express its deep concern about the devastating earthquake that has struck Japan. Such a horrific tragedy of nature awakens our memory of sorrow surrounding Armenia's 1988 earthquake in which 25,000 were killed, hundreds of thousands were left homeless and injured and infrastructure was devastated.
At the time, the world came to our aid. Now, we wish to offer our full support to the people of Japan and to the international community as they recover.
