Mathevosian and Nishanian Applicants Head to FAR.

Today, FAR wrapped up the summer application session for its Mathevosian and Jerair Nishanian Foundation scholarship programs. Since August 9th, students have visited FAR’s office to complete their paperwork for the programs. During this particular period only first-year students were able to apply and those eligible must currently attend or expect to attend Yerevan State University (YSU), Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE), Armenian State Engineering University (ASEU), Armenian State Agrarian University (ASAU), Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, and Gavar State University (GSU). All students must have demonstrated academic excellence and come from families in need of financial assistance to qualify.

Currently, 60 students receive the Mathevosian Scholarship and 53 are supported by the Jerair Nishanian Scholarship. Every year, ten new students are added to these programs, which are made possible by the generous Armenian-American benefactors Anoush Mathevosian and Jerair Nishanian.

These are two of the many scholarships that FAR offers Armenia’s youth; opportunities will continue to expand during 2010.
