Gyumri Information Technology Center (GTech)

One of Armenia’s leading IT institutions, GTech has helped to transform Gyumri and the Spitak Region into a place of opportunity following the 1988 earthquake. While GTech was started when internet barely existed in Gyumri, over the past 15 years it has changed the landscape into Armenia’s tech enclave. Today, it aims to provide students and unemployed youth with the opportunity to build cutting-edge tech skills, ultimately narrowing the country’s gap in need for a more qualified IT workforce.

More than 1,700 have graduated from the school’s numerous training and certification programs since GTech was founded in 2005, and GTech alumni continue to maintain an employment rate of more than 80 percent.

“GTech enabled me to think differently, to reach new milestones and inspire others in knowing that everything is possible when you feel empowered through self-awareness, education and experience. GTech also taught me the benefits of teamwork.”

—Sona Israyelyan, 2008 GTech graduate
