World famous rock musicians Ian Gillan of Deep Purple and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell, generously donated several musical instruments to N6 Octet Music School in Gyumri.
After visiting the school as part of the Armenia Grateful Rock 2 project last October, Octet’s Director Harutyun Asatryan told Gillan and Iommi that the students desperately needed good guitars and a drum kit.
Four acoustic guitars from Takamine, a Blackhawk drum kit from Gretsch Drums, Paiste сymbals, and Vic Firth drumsticks from John Henry’s Ltd., arrived just months later.
And the stars will continue to support the school. Gillan will be performing with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia on March 26th and 27th. All proceeds from the show will be used to renovate Octet.
