Armenia Chairs UN Women’s Commission for 2011.


The UN 55th Commission on the Status of Women focuses on topics related to gender equality and women’s advancement.


The Commission's discussions may become an important milestone for Armenia for the implementation of the Gender Policy Concept and the strategic program for 2011-2015 and will promote the participation of different layers of Armenian government and society in the solution to women's main issues of concern.”

Armenia occupies the chair of the UN 55th Women’s Commission which kicked off in New York on February 22. The CSW Conference is being attended by the representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations from all regions of the world.
