Finding Creative Path at ACT

Sixteen-year-old Mari Panosyan from Parakar once imagined a very different future for herself. Like many students her age, she tried different paths before discovering what truly inspired her.

“At first I was studying programming,” Mari says. “But I realized it wasn’t really for me.”

Not long after, she learned about the Armenian Creative Technologies College (ACT) and its Digital Art Department. The program immediately caught her attention. Curious and excited, she began practicing drawing more seriously and preparing to enter the field.

“I really wanted to study digital art,” she says. “So, I started drawing and practicing as much as I could.”

Earlier in school, Mari had thought about becoming a doctor. Later, she even explored psychology. But over time she realized that creativity and design were what felt most natural.

Today, she is focused on graphic design, building both traditional and digital art skills.

“Because I want to study graphic design, drawing is very important,” she explains. “We learn both traditional and digital techniques, and that combination is very useful.”

Mari says ACT has been a unique educational experience for her.

“This is the only place where I come to study with so much excitement,” she says. “Everything here feels creative.”

Students attend classes five days a week, and many stay afterward for additional practice or projects. For Mari, those extra hours often include music as well—she sings in the ACT band, where students rehearse and perform together.

She especially appreciates the supportive environment and teaching approach.

“Our instructors explain everything very clearly,” Mari says. “They point out our mistakes individually and help us improve.”

Mari currently studies with a 50% scholarship, earned through strong academic results. She graduated with high marks from school in Parakar and hopes to continue improving her performance.

“My goal is to earn a full scholarship,” she says. “If I succeed, the money could go to another student who needs it.”

Looking ahead, Mari hopes to continue her education abroad. ACT also offers opportunities that may allow students to pursue further studies internationally, including programs connected with universities in the United States.

For now, Mari is focused on building her skills and discovering where her creativity can take her next.
