TEDxYerevan discusses “Beyond Borders” unprecedented opportunities.

The first ever TEDx event in Yerevan was held on September 25, 2010.

The Banadzev program on Armenia's Public Television provided broad coverage of technological issues, including TEDxYerevan on Saturday, October 2, 17:40.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes and their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com.

In the same spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDxYerevan was born because of the desire of a group of TED devotees who had already spent months translating TED talks into Armenian. Beyond Borders was chosen as the subject umbrella under which talks were invited.

At the conclusion of the program, as Salpi Ghazarian, director of the Civilitas Foundation, and TEDxYerevan moderator said, "If TED didn't exist, Armenians should have invented it. TED enables what we've been doing for centuries. Bringing good ideas in and sharing our good ideas with the world."
