President Serzh Sargsyan honors Mikael Sogoian with the title of the Designated Artist of Armenia.
Echmiadzin, Armenia - Holy Echmiadzin now has a monument in memory of the Catholicos of All Armenians Vazgen I. The monument is the work of the father-son duo of sculptors Friedrich Sogoian and Michael Sogoian and was inaugurated on November 11.
His Holiness Vazgen I (September 20, 1908-August 18, 1994) was the Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church between 1955 and 1994, becoming one of the longest serving patriarchs of the Armenians.
