For about a year now, visitors to the Jujuvan Medical and Midwifery Center have been receiving healthcare services in a significantly improved and more comfortable environment. The facility was renovated within the framework of the FAR’s “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Tavush Region” program (BCPP).
Patients are warmly welcomed with care and a smile by family physician Dr. Narine Hovhannisyan and the center’s nurse, Kima Hovhannisyan.

According to them, before the renovation, the medical center was in a severely deteriorated condition; the building was cold, damp, and poorly maintained. As a result, both the medical staff’s working conditions and the community’s access to healthcare services were significantly affected.
“This is a remarkable investment in the health of our community, as improved conditions encourage preventive visits and make healthcare more accessible,” says family physician Dr. Narine Hovhannisyan, who has dedicated nearly 35 years to the healthcare sector.
She began her professional career as a pediatrician and later continued her career as a family physician. With her extensive experience and devoted work, she plays a vital role in safeguarding the health of the community and ensuring continuous primary care services.
It is also worth noting that within the framework of FAR’s continuous medical education (CME) programs, Dr. Hovhannisyan participated in a four-week training course, which further contributed to her professional development and clinical skills.
The center’s nurse, Kima Hovhannisyan, also took part in a 12-day community nursing training organized by FAR, gaining new knowledge and practical skills. She worked for many years in emergency medical services, where she acquired valuable professional experience. For the past ten years, she has been serving at the Jujuvan Medical and Midwifery Center as a nurse, ensuring the organization of primary healthcare services and patient care within the community.
