Let's Provide Hope to Sisian

Updated: Nov 10, 2022

Two years ago following the devastating 44-day war in Artsakh, FAR launched Support for Artsakh's Displaced, a project in support of the Artsakh refugees who relocated to Armenia's Sisian Region, on the Republic’s eastern border.

On September 13th, 2022 the Azeri army launched a brutal attack along the eastern border of Armenia. Their aggression was unprovoked and they took the precious lives of young Armenian soldiers, both men and women, and civilians. The destruction of civilian infrastructure was devastating.

The incursion by Azerbaijan's forces into Armenia this September has prompted new concerns about the vulnerability of Sisian itself. It brings serious concerns about the possibility of another onslaught.

In response, FAR is increasing its commitment to the Sisian Region, planning new initiatives to help the people there—refugees from Artsakh and longtime citizens alike—in this tense, uncertain time. You can review our project proposal here, and also donate to this new initiative.

This project will help our people in Sisian to find the strength and sustenance needed to continue rebuilding their lives on their land. This is also a project that will help them to protect themselves and the people of Armenia. We have to provide them with hope that does not disappoint.

Please, review the proposal and consider supporting FAR generously either online or by mailing your check to FAR's Headquarters at:

FAR 630 Second Avenue New York, NY 10016.
