Spotlight on GTech’s Business Development Unit – Maxtronic Website.

In February 2010, Andranik Ghukasyan joined Gyumri Information Technology Center (GTech) as project manager for the center’s new Business Development Unit (BDU). After selecting five GTech graduates to join BDU’s staff, Andranik and his team charged ahead on several great projects during 2010. And with the help of New York-based U.S. Project Manager Zarik Boghosian, an IT specialist, new opportunities are opening up for 2011. Zarik is working closely with BDU, supporting them in small projects as well as identifying possible outsourcing opportunities. We expect even larger projects to come to BDU from U.S.-based customers in the future. Meanwhile we’ll take this opportunity to highlight some of BDU’s work over the next few days.

Maxtronic Website

After “Maxtronic” Network Equipment Importation Company requested to develop a website that would greatly improve both its internal and external communication, BDU staff immediately set to work. In the beginning the technical task for the website was written by the team and sent to Maxtronic for approval. All aspects of the website have been completed and it’s now published in the GTech test zone: http://test.gitc.am. The website will be fully up and running in the near future after all details are finalized.

FAR, in partnership with several technology companies, created GTech in 2005 with the goal of broadening the skills of young Armenians and expanding opportunities in the region. GTech also helps to bolster development by providing an incubator space for new start up IT businesses.
