“Home is the place where you find peace for yourself and your children, where the feeling of urgency finally fades away…”
For Nelya Khachatryan, a mother of three displaced from Artsakh, that peace has at last been restored in the Sisian region of Syunik.
With the help of a state housing certificate, Nelya purchased a modest house. Yet, it was far from livable. That’s where FAR stepped in, providing vital housing supplements, furniture, and the means for her family to settle with dignity.
But Nelya went further and launched a small chicken-breeding business from scratch. Today, she is not only rebuilding her home but also thriving as an entrepreneur.
FAR’s Support to Artsakh Families Project has become yet another cornerstone of our work. We aim to provide displaced families with more than just shelter; we help them establish stable, dignified lives through housing renovation and refurbishment, economic opportunities, education, and healthcare.
Since March, we have already supported 15 families - over 50 people, who have received state housing certificates, by helping them renovate their homes, purchase essential furniture and appliances, repair roofs, and install heating systems.
Watch how Nelya's life has changed, and join us in supporting more refugee families find safety and dignity by donating to FAR today.
